Departments of Insurance Respond to Civil Unrest
The District of Columbia and New York State have issued emergency regulations for the handling of claims resulting from recent civil unrest in these jurisdictions. Also in response to the civil unrest, the Illinois Department of Insurance issued Company Bulletin 2020-15 requesting that P&C insurers implement protective measures pertaining to claims handling and cancellation/nonrenewal.
