Sean Kevelighan

Insurance Information Institute 

Sean Kevelighan joined the Insurance Information Institute as President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2016. Previously, he was Group Head of Public Affairs for Zurich Insurance Group where he oversaw Government and Industry Affairs as well as Corporate Responsibility. He joined Zurich in May 2013 as Head of Government and Industry Affairs for North America, with responsibility for driving the public policy agenda in the region. Prior to that, he worked at Citigroup, Inc., as Head of Strategic Communications for its Global Consumer Banking business, and for Zurich, as Head of Group Media Relations in North America.

He has served in various public sector posts in Washington, D.C. As a political appointee in the administration of President George W. Bush, he served first in the Department of Treasury as a spokesperson for economic issues, and eventually became Senior Advisor for the Office of Tax Policy. He was also the Press Secretary for the White House Office of Management and Budget. Additionally, he worked on Capitol Hill, serving on the staff of members of Congress; most notably as Legislative Director for Representative Bob Schaffer of Colorado. Sean's private sector experience in Washington, D.C. included positions at public affairs firms such as Edelman and Hill & Knowlton. He advised numerous multinational and FORTUNE 100 corporate clients on policy issue management programs, corporate reputation campaigns and crisis communications. Sean is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. He and his wife Annik have two children. He is an avid enthusiast of exercise and outdoors, participating regularly in triathlons and other sporting events.

Dr.Chandra Bhat, Ph.D., P.E.

University of Texas at Austin

Dr. Chandra R. Bhat is the Director of the Data-Supported Transportation Operations and Planning (D-STOP) Tier 1 USDOT University Transportation Center and the Joe J. King Chair in Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, where he has a joint appointment between the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) and the Department of Economics. Bhat is a world-renowned expert in the area of transportation and urban policy design, with far reaching implications for public health, energy dependence, greenhouse gas emissions, and societal quality of life.

Methodologically, he has been a pioneer in the formulation and use of statistical and econometric methods to analyze human choice behavior. His current research includes the social and environmental aspects of transportation, planning implications of connected and automated smart transportation systems (CASTS), and data science and predictive analytics. He is a recipient of many awards, including the 2017 Council of University Transportation Center (CUTC) Lifetime Achievement Award in Transportation Research and Education, the 2015 ASCE Frank Masters Award, and the 2013 German Humboldt Award. He was recently listed as the top ten transportation thought leaders in academia by the Eno Foundation. He is also a top-cited transportation engineering researcher, and was listed in the most cited researchers in civil engineering by ShanghaiRanking's global ranking of academic subjects 2016 by Elsevier.

In this role, George manages all aspects of the Personal Lines Property Vertical, including overall strategy, profitable growth, new product development and partnerships. He is responsible for a number of industry leading data solutions, including LexisNexis Territory Index and LexisNexis Property Data Prefill.

George has been with LexisNexis for over 15 years working in a variety of operational and strategic roles in both the Legal & Professional and Risk Solutions divisions. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the University of Richmond, Robins School of Business.

EDMUND J. KELLY

Edmund J. Kelly has been president of AAIS since April 2012, and CEO since July 2012. Before coming to AAIS, Ed had numerous years of executive experience in organizations that developed product platforms for property and liability lines.

Among other things, Ed served seven years as president and COO of ICAT Holdings LLC, an organization that developed one of the first programs allowing insurers to write wind-only coverage.

He was also an executive for a specialty division of Royal Sun Alliance that developed and maintained an industry-leading professional liability program for architects and engineers. Prior to his insurance career, Ed worked for 11 years as a senior manager for Ernst & Young.

JOHN KADOUS

Before coming to AAIS in March 2014, John had more than 26 years of experience in insurance, including 13 years with GEICO and nearly 12 years as an underwriting and product management director with USAA.

John earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Regis University. He holds a designation as a certified product manager from the Association of International Product Marketing and Management, as well as his CPCU designation.

CASEY BREWER

Casey is the principal developer of the AAIS personal auto forms. After working full-time for GEICO during college, he entered the insurance business in March 2001 as an underwriter with Unitrin, and rose to become Unitrin’s auto insurance product manager for 27 states.

Casey left Unitrin to become a staff underwriter for USAA, then moved on to product management positions with Gainsco, Dallas National, and National Unity before coming to AAIS in December 2014. Casey has earned the designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.

Truman leads Solutions and Partnerships, a business unit responsible for integrating the traditional advisory offerings and infrastructure of AAIS, together with advanced insurance technologies, and technical support for online product delivery.

The Stride Team works closely with carriers, the entire AAIS organization and its growing network of Associate and Alliance partners to develop customized advisory programs and a complete product solutions that deliver speed to market and operational efficiency.

Truman came to AAIS in 2012 from Red Door Interactive, a firm that specializes in strategy and development of marketing communications campaigns and solutions across digital and traditional media. Truman served as managing director and director of quality and continuous improvement at Red Door, after that firm acquired Breckenridge Communications, an applications development company he founded and led for 12 years.

ROBIN WESTCOTT

Robin Smith Westcott is the Vice President, General Counsel for AAIS. Robin began her career with the Florida Department of Insurance as a staff attorney with the Division of Rehabilitation and Liquidation in 1993. During her career with the Florida DOI and later the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, she served in various regulatory roles including Assistant General Counsel, Director of Financial Oversight for P&C, and Acting Deputy Commissioner for P&C.

Robin was appointed as the Florida Insurance Consumer Advocate in 2011 by Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and served in this capacity until leaving to join AAIS in November 2013. She has served on the Florida Surplus Lines Board, Florida Workers Compensation JUA Board, Workers Compensation Guaranty Association Board, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Consumer Committee, Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology and currently serves on the Florida Storm Center Advisory Council.
