Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) Issues Bulletin No. DFR 2021-5 on Expedited Claims Handling for Wildfires

 

On October 26, 2021, the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) adopted previously proposed Bulletin No. DFR 2021-5 on Expedited Claims Handling for Wildfires. The purpose of the bulletin is to clarify the division’s expectations for property and casualty insurers and provide guidance on expediting claims handling for Oregon policyholders affected by wildfires. The bulletin, link below, was adopted as proposed and became effective on Oct. 26, 2021 upon its issuance.
