Graphic Designer

Purpose

The Graphic Designer works on a wide range of projects and plays various roles within the Marketing & Communications team, and encompasses the entire creative process of gathering specs, visualizing, and creating communications for both print and digital channels to support brand positioning, marketing, sales, and AAIS initiatives both internally and externally. In addition to design, he/she will participate in video, photography, direct marketing, event support, social media, website development, analytics, copywriting, and other marketing related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Produce marketing and communication materials: brochures, flyers, papers, logos, presentations, ads, and other visual communications.

  • Develop and maintain graphics on AAIS digital channels: AAISonline, AAISdirect, Social Media, YouTube, direct marketing (Pardot), Meltwater, Confluence (intranet) and other platforms.

  • Marketing support for events and conferences: conference guides; nametags, agendas, signs, promotional items, ads, event microsites, direct marketing, themes/identities, logos, video, and other event support.

  • Produce and promote internal AAIS communications: AAISintranet, employee newsletter (AAISconnect), State of the Company presentations, Ambassador Program, invitations and other internal comms.

  • Deliver creative solutions and manage projects to ensure deadlines/milestones are met.

  • Protect and enhance AAIS’s brand identity.

  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.

  • Conceptualize visuals based on project specs and scope.

  • Create design solutions that reflect AAIS and convey the appropriate message.

  • Meet with all levels of AAIS organization to collect specs and determine scope.

  • Present creative solutions and concepts to all levels of AAIS organization.

  • Proof and review work for errors or issues before printing or publishing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design (or related degree).

  • Business applications of exceptional creativity and innovation.

  • Extensive knowledge of design theory and full command of Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Experience with both print and digital media.

  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS.

  • Experience with video editing software a plus.

  • Ability to translate requirements into design.

  • Experience with Content Management Sites.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Time management and organizational skills.

  • Proofing and editing skills.

  • Experience working with print vendors.

  • A portfolio of creative work that showcases abilities.
