Florida Extends Daily Data Call for Hurricane Ian, Requiring Full 2022 CRF Reporting Template

On September 28, 2022, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) issued a notice to the industry requiring a daily data call related to Hurricane Ian. Beginning September 30, 2022, through October 7, 2022, insurers were to submit daily simplified catastrophe claims using the Simplified 2022 CRF, which does not include the “Survey” tab within the CRF template.

On October 10, 2022, the OIR issued a second notice to the industry to continue the daily simplified catastrophe reporting for Hurricane Ian through October 8, 2022 - October 13, 2022.

Pursuant to the OIR's latest notice to the industry, issued on October 12, 2022, the daily data call has been further extended through October 14, 2022 - October 21, 2022. Insurers are to report Hurricane Ian claims data using the 2022 CRF. The data must be submitted daily by 12:00 p.m. ET, including Saturday and Sunday (October 15-16, 2022).

Importantly, the catastrophe reporting template for this reporting deadline has been modified. The fillable 2022 CRF template must be downloaded within your filing in IRFS here. Insurers must submit data for all visible fields on the template.
