STATE RESPONSES
Information regarding compliance with the
Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002
and related regulations

AAIS has been issuing bulletins to provide information on terrorism-related filings and company action related to the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 and subsequent regulations issued by state insurance departments and the US Treasury.

Given the need for urgent action in the wake of the law's passage, AAIS made its terrorism bulletins publicly available on this Web site. Bulletins issued through March 2004 will continue to be available here.

Starting in June 2004, AAIS terrorism bulletins, like all other product bulletins, have been distributed to AAIS affiliates through the AAISdirect Internet service or through the "electronic mail boxes" established in 2004.

Materials found on this open Web site, which address "certified" and "non-certified" terrorism losses, were current through mid-2004.

04-0434	July 9, 2004	Connecticut - Terrorism Exclusion Endorsements Revised Terrorism exclusion endorsements that do not contain an ensuing fire loss exception have been filed, with a proposed effective date of September 1, 2004, as replacements for the terrorism exclusion endorsements that do contain an exception for ensuing fire loss that are currently on file in Connecticut.

04-0143	Mar..19, 2004	Countrywide - Scheduled Termination of Terrorism Risk Insurance Program The Terrorism Risk Insurance Program established by the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 is scheduled to terminate on December 31, 2005.

04-0005 Bulletin with Attachments Bulletin Only:	Jan.2, 2004	New Jersey - Certified Terrorism Endorsement and Manual Supplement Acknowledged A revised edition of endorsement FL 0670, Certified Terrorism Loss, and a corresponding manual supplement have been acknowledged by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance effective January 1, 2004.

03-0547	Dec.19, 2003	Oklahoma - Non-Certified Terrorism Endorsement & Supplement Changes Approved The non-certified terrorism endorsement and manual supplement changes described in Reference Bulletin 03-0366 have been approved in Oklahoma with an effective date of March 1, 2004.

03-0534	Dec.12, 2003	Georgia - Non-Certified Terrorism Endorsements and Manual Rules Disapproved The non-certified terrorism endorsements and manual rules that were filed in Georgia with a proposed effective date of January 1, 2004 have been formally disapproved by the Department of Insurance.

The revised materials will become effective January 1, 2004.

03-0212	June 9, 2003	New Jersey - Certified Terrorism Filing Disapproved The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance has disapproved the filing that included endorsement FL 0670, Certified Terrorism Loss, and its accompanying manual supplement. Companies are advised to cease using the endorsement and supplement until further notice.

03-0201	May. 23, 2003	Virginia - Certified Terrorism Filings Approved The Virginia Bureau of Insurance has approved endorsement FL 0670 03 03 and its accompanying manual supplement.

03-0181 Bulletin with Attachments Bulletin Only:	May 12, 2003	Virginia - Interstate Accounts Rule in Terrorism Supplement Revised The multistate version of the Interstate Accounts rule, shown in the sample SFP Terrorism Loss Rules Supplement attached to Bulletin 02-0550, has been replaced in Virginia by a more detailed, state-specific Interstate Accounts rule. A copy of the updated Virginia supplement is attached to this Bulletin.

In addition, a filing of several of the certified terrorism rule and rating information Supplement pages has been made to reflect the endorsement changes.

03-0160	Apr. 24, 2003	Countrywide - Status of Certified Terrorism Filings The filings that included endorsement FL 0670, Certified Terrorism Loss, and its accompanying manual supplement have been acknowledged, either in full or in part, in 25 jurisdictions. However, at the present time regulators in Maryland and Virginia have indicated that the endorsement and supplement may not be implemented in those states.
