AAIS has released and, where necessary, filed a new
computer coverage form specifically designed for accounts with $100,000 or
less in total hardware and software values. The form, along with
endorsements and schedules that complement it, is provided as part of the
Electronic Data Processing section of the AAIS Inland
Marine Guide.
The new form, requested by users of the Guide,
essentially provides streamlined computer coverage with fewer built-in
supplemental coverages and coverage extensions than in heretofore standard
computer coverage forms. Supplemental coverages and coverage extensions
can be added individually by endorsement, however.
More information is available in a press
release. For information on affiliating with AAIS for use of the
Inland Marine Guide, contact Rick Maka, director of marketing, at rickm@AAISonline.com.
Therese "Terri" Vaughan, former
insurance commissioner for the state of Iowa and past president of the
National Association of Insurance Commissioners, is among the
newly-confirmed speakers for the 2005
AAIS Annual Conference, April 10-12 in Del Mar, Cal.
In 2004, Terri was named the Robb B. Kelley
Distinguished Professor of Insurance and Actuarial Science at Drake
University in Des Moines, following years as a regulator, actuarial
consultant, and educator. She will be joining Joan Lamm-Tennant of General
Re Capital Consultants in a session exploring the potential impact of
deregulatory initiatives on competition in property/casualty insurance.
Also selected to appear on the program are:
-
Jean Chiang, a San Francisco-based
consultant with Towers Perrin, who will share findings from the
extensive study on "engaging" employees to achieve greater
productivity; and
-
Peter Höppe, head of Munich Re's geo-risk
research and environmental management departments, who will discuss
how climate and earth science are being used to understand and price
insurance risk.
People who sign up for the program by Feb. 11 receive
a discount on the conference fee. For information about attending the
conference or sponsoring events, contact Joseph Harrington, director of
corporate communications, at joeh@AAISonline.com.
