AAIS FILES COUNTRYWIDE MANUALS FOR
HOMEOWNERS AND MOBILE-HOMEOWNERS

AAIS is initiating filing action to introduce countrywide manuals for its Homeowners and Mobile-Homeowners Programs. Under this format, pages for identifying specific state exceptions will be issued separately, a change from the previous practice of issuing separate manuals for each jurisdiction.

The new manuals will display basic rating information in a factor rating format rather than as tables with amounts already calculated. The manuals will display loss cost base amounts by territory, and provide the applicable relativities for policy form, amount of insurance, protection, and construction.

Proposed effective dates for the new manuals range from May 1 to Sept. 1, 2006. Companies affiliated with AAIS for Homeowners or Mobile-Homeowners will receive more information in an upcoming bulletin.

REVISED STATISTICAL PLANS ISSUED FOR
HOMEOWNERS AND MOBILE-HOMEOWNERS

AAIS recently issued updated statistical plans to its Homeowners and Mobile-Homeowners affiliates. Earlier this year, AAIS issued updated  statistical plans for Crime, Glass, and Inland Marine; new plans for other lines will be issued in coming months.

The new statistical plans are being revised to accommodate available media for reporting statistics and to add fields. For information on AAIS's Statistical Reporting service, contact Rick Maka, director of marketing, at rickm@AAISonline.com.

LATEST PF&M REVIEWS
AAIS ARTISANS PROGRAM

The September 2005 edition of the Policy Form and Manual Analysis Service (PF&M), published by The Rough Notes Co., features a detailed analysis of the AAIS Artisans Program, concentrating on the open perils form provided in the program.

The Artisans Program is designed for insuring small building contractors (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc.) that may have little or no building property of their own. A policy emphasizes liability coverage, and can be written to provide liability coverage only.
