AAIS is starting to distribute updated statistical
plans.
In bulletins to be issued Friday, April 8, AAIS will
provide each statistical reporting affiliate for Crime, Glass, and Inland
Marine with a revised statistical plan, along with a summary of changes
made to each plan. Stat plans for other lines will be filed in coming
months.
According to Larry Thill, AAIS statistical manager,
the general purpose of the revisions is to reflect new computer media
available for submitting reports, incorporate terrorism reporting
instructions, and add a second option for reporting changes in coverage in
situations when a computer system is not capable of reporting policy
changes in full statistical detail.

service, contact Rick Maka, director of marketing, at rickm@AAISonline.com.
Robert Guevara, AAIS vice president for inland marine,
will speak on "Inland Marine Regulatory Issues" on Tuesday,
April 19, at the Annual Convention of the Inland Marine Underwriters
Association in Monterey, Calif.
Among other roles, Guevara is the principal developer
of the AAIS Inland Marine Guide,
a leading resource of forms, rating procedures, underwriting guidelines
and other information for the traditionally nonfiled classes of inland
marine insurance.
AAIS's next Web-based training seminar, scheduled for
1 p.m. Central time on May 25, will address aspects of rating and loss
control in Motor Truck Cargo (MTC) insurance.
Robert Guevara, AAIS vice president of inland marine,
will open the presentation with a review of changes to the rating
procedure provided in the MTC section of the AAIS Inland Marine
Guide.
The Guide is a leading industry resource for
forms, rating procedures, underwriting guidelines, and other information
for the traditionally nonfiled classes of inland marine insurance; Guevara
is its principal developer.
Guevara will be joined by Bruce Dalrymple, president
and CEO of Marine Solutions
Group, LLD, who will describe the use of telephone surveys for loss
control in Motor Truck Cargo.
To register,

AAIS has received its first approval of a new disclosure,
included in a state amendatory endorsement, regarding guaranty fund reimbursements required in Missouri.
The disclosure advises policyholders of their right to
recover paid premium in the event an insurer becomes insolvent. It is
required by a law amended last year to remove a minimum premium threshold
for payments and increase the amount of premium recoverable. (To read the
new disclosure requirement, scroll down to section 375.775 of a 2004
act concerning the state guaranty fund.)
The revised AAIS disclosure was approved in a state
amendatory endorsement filed for the Commercial Output Program.
Disclosures will be filed for other programs.
Gray
Wolf Insurance Seminars has scheduled its next "AAIS Personal
Lines Underwriting Academy" for May 2-6 in Tinley Park, Ill.

training on using the forms and manuals in the AAIS Homeowners,
Farmowners, Dwelling Properties, Landlord's Package, Personal and
Premises Liability, Personal and Farm Umbrella, and Personal Inland
Marine programs.
The academy is led by Gray Wolf
senior instructor Fred Macy, who has taught property/casualty courses
