WHEATON, Ill., Mar. 15, 2004--Commercial lines
professionals in companies, agencies, and brokerages are invited to
respond to a survey on terrorism insurance available at www.AAISonline.com,
the Web site of the American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS).
The survey asks respondents to estimate how many
commercial insureds have opted for coverage under the federal Terrorism
Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) of 2002. It also asks why some insureds forgo
coverage under the program, what is the most common way to address
losses from "non-certified" (domestic) terrorist acts, and the
respondent's opinion regarding the future of TRIA.
The survey is free of charge and collects no
identifying information from respondents, other than to ask what type of
organization they work for.
AAIS is a national advisory organization that
develops standardized policy forms, manual rules, and loss cost rating
information used by more than 600 property/casualty carriers nationwide.
The information gathered through the terrorism survey will be reviewed
as part of AAIS's product development efforts regarding terrorism.
For questions, contact Joseph Harrington, director
of corporate communications, at 800/564-AAIS.
