Wheaton, Ill., March 17, 2008—George Dale, who served more than 30 years as insurance commissioner of Mississippi, will speak on political issues affecting property/casualty insurers in an appearance at the "Main Event," an executive conference sponsored by the American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS).

AAIS is a national advisory organization that develops policy forms and rating information used by more than 600 property/casualty insurers throughout the U.S. Its 2008 Main Event conference is scheduled for April 20-22 in Ponte Vedra, Fla. For details and registration, go to www.AAISonline.com.

Dale, who won eight consecutive terms, was the nation's longest serving insurance commissioner before being defeated in a party primary in 2007. His Main Event overview of political issues affecting insurance underwriting will serve as a lead-in to a panel of four company CEOs who will offer their reaction to comments from him and other Main Event speakers. Those speakers include:

·        W. Michael Cox, senior economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will speak on "Ten Important Long-Term Trends for the Economy."

·        Josh Greenbaum, an attorney with the firm Cozen O'Connor, will speak on "Hazardous Imports and Products Liability."

·        Jeff Kucera, consulting actuary with EMB America, will speak on "The Growth and Evolution of Rating Variables."

·        Robert Parisi, Marsh USA's national practice leader for network risk, technology, and telecommunications, will speak on "Underwriting E-commerce Insurance."

·        Robert Healy, senior vice president of ABS Consulting, which owns the catastrophe modeling firm EQECAT, will speak on "Catastrophe Modeling."

In addition, there will be presentations by AAIS staff and roundtable discussions on topics in personal, commercial, and farm insurance, as well as a roundtable devoted to issues for executives.
