Wheaton, Ill., Jan. 23, 2008—Insurers can register now for the second annual "Main Event" conference of the American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS), scheduled for April 20-22 at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

AAIS is a national advisory organization that develops policy forms and rating information used by more than 600 property/casualty insurers throughout the U.S. The Main Event is an executive conference devoted to discussing product-related issues of strategic importance to property/casualty insurers. The inaugural Main Event was held in 2007, growing out of the former AAIS annual conference.

The 2008 Main Event features several speakers focusing on the type of product-related topics the meeting is designed to address:

·        Josh Greenbaum, an attorney with the renowned insurance defense firm Cozen O'Connor, will speak on "Hazardous Imports and Products Liability."

·        Jeff Kucera, consulting actuary with EMB America, will speak on "The Growth and Evolution of Rating Variables."

·        Robert Parisi, Marsh USA's national practice leader for network risk, technology, and telecommunications, will speak on "Underwriting E-commerce Insurance."

In addition, an executive from EQECAT, one of the nation's leading catastrophe modeling firms, will speak on the progress made by modelers over recent years, and the challenges they still face meeting the expectations of insurers and public officials.

Other prominent political and industry speakers have been invited, and AAIS is awaiting confirmation.
