Our Statistical Reporting Service provides statistical plans that make the process valuable, efficient, and economical. AAIS’s philosophy of service stresses cooperation with companies to achieve timely, accurate statistical reporting.

The latest statistical plans feature several benefits:

An expanded number of data elements anticipates regulatory requirements, thus minimizing the need for time-consuming and costly "special data calls;"
Data captured in individual records (one record per premium, claim, etc.) to support ratemaking applications;
Format designed to facilitate conversion from other plans to AAIS;
Customized reports of company data available on request; and
Company profile reports sent on annual basis.

No fines are assessed against companies with errors or omissions in their data reports. Rather, AAIS staff consults with companies to work out problems, and rewards good data with credits toward insurance line affiliations.

Beyond the commitment to service, AAIS provides its statistical reporting affiliates with free resources for doing the job efficiently:

Data entry and reporting software that automatically generates statistical submission from entered data;

Edit programs that detect errors before they are submitted to AAIS; and

Manuals for training statistical and data processing staff about the reporting and coding process.

AAIS Technical Product Support service helps companies seek solutions for automating use of AAIS programs.

AAIS recently created a technical product support team in its data management division, which was itself established in 2007 within the technical services department.

The role of the technical product support team is to help software vendors that are automating rating and policy issue functions to support AAIS programs.

In addition, AAIS continues to maintain an online Software Vendor Directory listing software vendors that currently support AAIS programs. The Directory includes:

Hardware, software, and platform specifications for each vendor;
Applications each vendor supports (policy processing, rating, forms printing, and/or statistical reporting) for each line of insurance;
Names of insurers who have used the vendor; and
List of AAIS support services for software vendors.
