Introduced in 2008, the AAIS Agricultural General Liability (AgGL) Program is the first standardized program specifically designed for insuring general liability exposures of farms and agribusinesses.
Compared to standard farmowners programs, the AgGL provides broader coverage in its base forms, with a wider range of endorsements for covering or excluding liability exposures.
Compared to standard CGL programs, the AgGL forms include important provisions addressing agricultural exposures, and its manual includes numerous agricultural classifications not typically found in a CGL manual.
For more information, consult the Viewpoint article and brochure whose links appear to the right, and click below to hear commentary on the program from Sherry Taylor, AAIS manager of farm and agribusiness. Sherry, our leading expert for the development of the AgGL forms and rating classifications, has many years of experience in agricultural insurance with carriers and agencies.

In an audio file of the interview that appears in the latest edition of Viewpoint magazine, Sherry Taylor discusses the conversion of some farm classes from area-based to sales-based rating.
