Washington State Allows E-Posting and E-Transmission

June 19, 2015 AAIS Advisory

A new law in the state of Washington allows a notice or other insurance document to be delivered, stored, and presented by electronic means as long as it meets the requirements of the state electronic authentication act.

Also, the bill authorizes standard property and casualty insurance policy forms and endorsements that do not contain personally identifiable information to be mailed, delivered, or posted on the insurer's web site.

The law takes effect July 24, 2015.

AAIS Advisory notices are posted periodically to announce AAIS product developments, and to provide news items that are relevant to our program users. Advisory notices are news summaries that paraphrase documents which should be consulted directly for complete, authoritative information.
