Texas Cuts Back on Data Reporting Requirements

June 8, 2015 AAIS Advisory notice UPDATED 3/17/2016

March 17, 2016 UPDATE: The Texas Department of Insurance has issued an order adopting the provisions of the law described below.

A new law in Texas reduces the number of insurance data calls in that state and eliminates some data calls no longer deemed necessary by the Texas Department of Insurance.

The law calls for annual data reports in place of quarterly reports as of Jan. 1, 2016, and repeals the requirement for closed liability claim reports for claims closed after Jan. 1, 2016.

As of Sept. 1, 2015, the law repeals requirements for reports related to community investment and claim settlement practices.
