AAIS announced in mid-February that it had filed or made available revised endorsements and disclosure notices to comply with the reauthorized federal Terrorism Risk Insurance Program ("TRIPRA 2015").
To date, AAIS commercial lines terrorism endorsements have been approved in 40 jurisdictions, and 35 have approved terrorism endorsements in personal lines (the latter for policies written to cover exposures of a 1-4 family dwelling regularly rented or held for rental to others).
In addition to the terrorism materials available under AAIS programs, insurers can consult interim guidance provided by the Federal Insurance Office regarding the offer of terrorism coverage and related disclosures.
Also, several states have issued terrorism bulletins; many, although not, of them are patterned after an NAIC model bulletin issued in January. State-specific variations regarding forms and notices have been incorporated into AAIS filings, but the state bulletins may be helpful to companies that file independent terrorism rating.
