A directive from the Georgia insurance commissioner gives personal and commercial property insurers until Oct. 30, 2015 to submit records for all policies active in the state as of May 30, 2015.
The directive explains that the data is being sought to analyze property concentration, insured exposure, market share and potential financial impact "in case of an unlikely weather event." The examination certificate authorizing the call states that the information and documents collected "shall be deemed proprietary and confidential and shall be withheld from public inspection."
Instructions are provided for responding to the data call.
